Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Orchard Hills in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (175 people or 19.6%)
- Retail Trade (86 people or 9.7%)
- Education and Training (81 people or 9.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 342 people in total or 38.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Penrith City employed 12.0% in Construction; 10.0% in Retail Trade; and 8.0% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Orchard Hills and Penrith City were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (19.6% compared to 12.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (4.0% compared to 1.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (8.3% compared to 13.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (1.6% compared to 4.0%)
