Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Emu Plains in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (502 people or 13.2%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (488 people or 12.8%)
- Education and Training (453 people or 11.9%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,443 people in total or 37.9% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Penrith City employed 12.0% in Construction; 13.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.0% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Emu Plains and Penrith City were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (11.9% compared to 8.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (8.7% compared to 6.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (5.5% compared to 7.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (8.6% compared to 10.0%)
