Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in South Penrith in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (734 people or 13.2%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (731 people or 13.1%)
- Retail Trade (542 people or 9.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,007 people in total or 36.0% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Penrith employed 9.2% in Construction; 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.7% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of South Penrith and Penrith were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (13.2% compared to 9.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (13.1% compared to 15.1%)
