Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Penrith in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (545 females or 20.4%)
- Retail Trade (369 females or 13.8%)
- Education and Training (283 females or 10.6%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,197 females in total or 44.9% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Claremont Meadows employed 20.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.4% in Retail Trade; and 12.0% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Penrith and Claremont Meadows were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (8.7% compared to 6.6%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.8% compared to 12.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (4.2% compared to 6.1%)
