Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Penrith City in 2021 compared to Emu Plains shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 35.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.0% were one-parent families, compared with 33.0% and 12.2% respectively for Emu Plains.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 20.7% compared to 24.1% in Emu Plains while the proportion of couples without children was 21.3% compared to 25.5% in Emu Plains.
