Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in St Marys in 2021 compared to St Clair shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 25.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 15.7% were one-parent families, compared with 41.7% and 14.2% respectively for St Clair.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.3% compared to 13.8% in St Clair while the proportion of couples without children was 16.3% compared to 24.2% in St Clair.
