Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Penrith City Council compared to Penrith City shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.5% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.5% for Penrith City.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Llandilo and Penrith City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (38.2% compared to 30.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (4.0% compared to 7.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (2.5% compared to 5.8%)
