Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the people in low income households in City of Parramatta in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (588 persons or 15.1%)
- Professionals (587 persons or 15.1%)
- Labourers (527 persons or 13.6%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,702 people in total or 43.8% of the employed people in low income households.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 15.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 12.9% in Professionals; and 14.6% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by people in low income households of the City of Parramatta and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (15.1% compared to 12.9%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Managers (9.3% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (6.8% compared to 9.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (13.6% compared to 14.6%)
