Analysis of the housing tenure for people reporting a need for assistance in the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a smaller proportion of people with a need for assistance in households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a larger proportion who were renters.

Overall, 35.4% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households who owned their dwelling; 20.5% were purchasing, and 39.5% were renting, compared with 40.1%, 22.8% and 33.3% respectively for Greater Sydney.
