Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households with recent arrivals in the City of Parramatta in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that 79.5% of recent arrivals were in households who owned at least one car and 18.9% were not, compared with 79.1% and 19.0% respectively in Greater Sydney.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car, a smaller proportion who owned two cars, and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 54.7% of recent arrivals were in households who owned one car, 18.4% owned two cars, and 6.4% owned three cars or more, compared with 45.8%, 23.1% and 10.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.
