Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 1,760 females who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in City of Onkaparinga, compared with 27,340 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the female residents in the City of Onkaparinga in 2021, compared to Greater Adelaide, shows that 4.3% used public transport, while 67.1% used a private vehicle, compared with 7.1% and 64.1% respectively in Greater Adelaide.
The major differences in females between the method of travel to work of the City of Onkaparinga and Greater Adelaide were:
- A larger percentage of females who travelled by car (as driver) (63.1% compared to 58.7%)
- A larger percentage of females who did not go to work (15.9% compared to 14.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females who travelled by bus (2.0% compared to 5.4%)
