Dominant groups

Analysis of the language used at home by the population of the Southern District in 2021 compared to the City of Onkaparinga shows that there was a larger proportion of people who used English only, and a smaller proportion of those using a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 90.9% of the population used English only, and 4.0% used a non-English language, compared with 89.0% and 7.1% respectively for the City of Onkaparinga.

The dominant language used at home, other than English, in the Southern District was German, with 0.4% of the population, or 60 people using this language at home.

There were no major differences between Southern District and City of Onkaparinga in 2021.

Emerging groups
