Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Northern District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,041 females or 29.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,558 females or 15.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,116 females or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,715 females in total or 55.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 29.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.1% in Education and Training; and 12.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the Northern District and the City of Onkaparinga were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (15.0% compared to 12.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (10.8% compared to 12.6%)
