Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Hills South District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (512 females or 23.3%)
- Education and Training (320 females or 14.6%)
- Retail Trade (241 females or 11.0%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,073 females in total or 48.8% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 29.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.1% in Education and Training; and 12.6% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the Hills South District and the City of Onkaparinga were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (4.3% compared to 0.7%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (7.4% compared to 3.8%)
