Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Central North District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,122 females or 31.0%)
  • Retail Trade (2,362 females or 14.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,655 females or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 9,139 females in total or 55.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 29.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.6% in Retail Trade; and 12.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the Central North District and the City of Onkaparinga were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (14.3% compared to 12.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (31.0% compared to 29.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (10.0% compared to 12.1%)
