Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Central North District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (3,278 males or 19.2%)
  • Manufacturing (1,887 males or 11.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,823 males or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,988 males in total or 40.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 19.1% in Construction; 10.4% in Manufacturing; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the Central North District and the City of Onkaparinga were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (10.7% compared to 9.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.8% compared to 4.9%)
