Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Central South District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,285 people or 18.2%)
  • Construction (1,511 people or 12.1%)
  • Retail Trade (1,348 people or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,144 people in total or 41.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Onkaparinga employed 18.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.8% in Construction; and 11.0% in Retail Trade.

The major difference between the jobs held by the population of the Central South District and the City of Onkaparinga was:
