Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Christies Beach in 2016 compared to the City of Onkaparinga shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 19.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 16.1% were one-parent families, compared with 29.4% and 12.7% respectively for the City of Onkaparinga.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.2% compared to 23.8% in the City of Onkaparinga while the proportion of couples without children was 23.5% compared to 26.5% in the City of Onkaparinga.
