Dominant groups

Analysis of the families with children in the Hills North District in 2021 compared to the City of Onkaparinga shows that there was a larger proportion of couples with young children, as well as a larger proportion of couples with older children.

Overall, 15.3% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 18.7% were couples with older children, compared with 14.5% and 9.7% respectively for the City of Onkaparinga.

There were a smaller proportion of single parent households with young children and a smaller proportion of single parent households with older children. Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 2.4% compared to 5.1% in the City of Onkaparinga while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 3.6% compared to 6.3% in the City of Onkaparinga.
