Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of the Northern District in 2021 compared to the City of Onkaparinga shows that there was a similar proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 17.3% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.7% and 19.9% respectively for the City of Onkaparinga.

The major difference between the age structure of the Northern District and the City of Onkaparinga is:
