Analysis of car ownership in 2016, indicates 48% of households in Port Noarlunga had access to two or more motor vehicles, compared to 55% in the City of Onkaparinga.

The ability of the population to access services and employment is strongly influenced by access to transport. Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Port Noarlunga in 2016 compared to the City of Onkaparinga shows that 85.3% of the households owned at least one car, while 7.0% did not, compared with 88.5% and 5.2% respectively in the City of Onkaparinga.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 37.3% of the households owned one car; 33.2% owned two cars; and 14.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 33.9%; 36.7% and 17.8% respectively for the City of Onkaparinga.
