There were more professionals in NSROC Region in 2021 than any other occupation.

This will be influenced by the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area, education levels, and the working and social aspirations of the population. Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in NSROC Region in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (127,581 people or 39.9%)
  • Managers (62,943 people or 19.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (40,919 people or 12.8%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 231,443 people in total or 72.4% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 29.3% in Professionals; 15.2% in Managers; and 13.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of NSROC Region and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (39.9% compared to 29.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (19.7% compared to 15.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (1.8% compared to 5.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (6.9% compared to 10.5%)
