Analysis of the household/family types in Perth in 2021 compared to Northern Midlands shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 29.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.3% were one-parent families, compared with 24.0% and 9.9% respectively for Northern Midlands.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 25.3% compared to 27.3% in Northern Midlands while the proportion of couples without children was 31.6% compared to 31.6% in Northern Midlands.
The number of households in Perth increased by 362 between 2011 and 2021.
