Dominant groups
Analysis of the car ownership of people born in India in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that 91.8% of people born in India were in households that owned at least one car, while 6.4% did not, compared with 90.4% and 8.1% respectively in Greater Sydney.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a larger proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 41.8% of people born in India were in households that owned one car; 32.1% owned two cars; and 17.9% owned three cars or more, compared with 44.3%; 33.3% and 12.8% respectively for Greater Sydney.

The largest changes in household car ownership for people born in India in the Northern Beaches Council between 2016 and 2021 were:
