Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of people born overseas in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the Northern Beaches Council shows that 93.6% of people born overseas were in households that owned at least one car, while 5.6% did not, compared with 93.7% and 3.5% respectively in the total population in the Northern Beaches Council.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 34.4% of people born overseas were in households that owned one car; 38.9% owned two cars; and 20.3% owned three cars or more, compared with 26.5%; 42.0% and 25.3% respectively for the total population in the Northern Beaches Council.
