Dominant groups
Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the non-English speaking population in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the Northern Beaches Council shows that there was a higher proportion of persons who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 31.3% of the non-English speaking population provided unpaid child care, compared with 28.6% for the total population in the Northern Beaches Council.
The major differences between the share of the non-English speaking population providing unpaid child care in Northern Beaches Council area and the total population in the Northern Beaches Council were:
- A larger percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (27.0% compared to 23.9%)
