Dominant groups

Analysis of the housing tenure for people reporting a need for assistance in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a larger proportion of people with a need for assistance in households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a smaller proportion who were renters.

Overall, 53.9% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households who owned their dwelling; 21.3% were purchasing, and 18.4% were renting, compared with 40.1%, 22.8% and 33.3% respectively for Greater Sydney.
