Dominant groups
Analysis of the number of bedrooms in dwellings for people aged 65 to 74 years in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney, shows that there was a higher proportion of people aged 65 to 74 years in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, as well as a higher proportion of dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms.
Overall, 23.2% of people aged 65 to 74 years were in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and 41.6% in 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 22.0% and 39.5% for Greater Sydney respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling people aged 65 to 74 years in the Northern Beaches Council and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people in 5 bedrooms or more (13.2% compared to 11.1%)
- A larger percentage of people in 0 or 1 bedrooms (5.9% compared to 4.7%)
- A smaller percentage of people in 3 bedrooms (32.7% compared to 35.1%)
