Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Shire of Mitchell in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (3,439 people or 14.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,782 people or 11.8%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (2,284 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,505 people in total or 36.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 10.4% in Construction; 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 5.9% in Public Administration and Safety.
