Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Shire of Cardinia in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (8,092 people or 13.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (7,882 people or 13.4%)
  • Retail Trade (5,807 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 21,781 people in total or 37.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) employed 10.4% in Construction; 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Shire of Cardinia and National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) were:
