Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Mount Martha in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,156 people or 13.6%)
  • Construction (1,073 people or 12.6%)
  • Retail Trade (965 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,194 people in total or 37.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Mornington Peninsula Shire employed 13.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.3% in Construction; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Mount Martha and Mornington Peninsula Shire were:
