Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Somerville in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (789 females or 26.3%)
  • Education and Training (409 females or 13.6%)
  • Retail Trade (366 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,564 females in total or 52.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Mornington Peninsula Shire employed 23.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Education and Training; and 12.3% in Retail Trade.
