Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Tyabb in 2016 compared to Mornington Peninsula Shire shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.3% were one-parent families, compared with 27.8% and 10.1% respectively for Mornington Peninsula Shire.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.4% compared to 25.5% in Mornington Peninsula Shire while the proportion of couples without children was 29.7% compared to 28.6% in Mornington Peninsula Shire.
