Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in HMAS Cerberus in 2011 compared to Mornington Peninsula Shire shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 44.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.8% were one-parent families, compared with 28.3% and 10.5% respectively for Mornington Peninsula Shire.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 6.5% compared to 25.1% in Mornington Peninsula Shire while the proportion of couples without children was 38.7% compared to 29.0% in Mornington Peninsula Shire.
