Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Shire of Morawa in 2011 compared to Regional WA shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.4% were one-parent families, compared with 27.3% and 8.8% respectively for Regional WA.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 29.1% compared to 21.3% in Regional WA while the proportion of couples without children was 22.9% compared to 26.5% in Regional WA.
