Dominant groups

In 2011, there were 1,541 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Ascot Vale, compared with 3,744 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in Ascot Vale in 2011, compared to the City of Moonee Valley, shows that 22.5% used public transport, while 54.7% used a private vehicle, compared with 17.5% and 62.8% respectively in the City of Moonee Valley.
