Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Flemington in 2016 compared to the City of Moonee Valley shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 17.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.1% were one-parent families, compared with 31.2% and 9.3% respectively for the City of Moonee Valley.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 32.0% compared to 24.9% in the City of Moonee Valley while the proportion of couples without children was 17.1% compared to 22.8% in the City of Moonee Valley.
