Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the population in Essendon West in 2016 compared to the City of Moonee Valley shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas, as well as a smaller proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.

Overall, 16.9% of the population was born overseas, and 12.9% were from a non-English speaking background, compared with 27.6% and 23.1% respectively for the City of Moonee Valley.
