Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Mulgrave in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (917 females or 20.6%)
  • Education and Training (581 females or 13.1%)
  • Retail Trade (535 females or 12.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,033 females in total or 45.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Monash employed 20.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Education and Training; and 10.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Mulgrave and the City of Monash were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in manufacturing (6.5% compared to 4.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (12.0% compared to 10.9%)
