Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Oakleigh in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (287 males or 12.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (280 males or 12.1%)
  • Retail Trade (226 males or 9.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 793 males in total or 34.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Monash employed 10.4% in Construction; 12.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Oakleigh and the City of Monash were:
