Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Clayton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Retail Trade (587 males or 10.9%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (529 males or 9.9%)
  • Manufacturing (464 males or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,580 males in total or 29.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Monash employed 9.4% in Retail Trade; 6.7% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 8.1% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Clayton and the City of Monash were:
