Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Monash compared to the City of Monash shows that there was a higher proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.5% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.9% for the City of Monash.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Mulgrave and the City of Monash were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (51.0% compared to 45.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (28.5% compared to 25.8%)
