Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in North - East Region in 2011 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,936 people or 17.5%)
  • Education and Training (1,396 people or 12.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,257 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,589 people in total or 41.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Mitcham employed 17.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.7% in Education and Training; and 9.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of North - East Region and the City of Mitcham were:
