Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in MidCoast Council area in 2021 compared to Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 17.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.5% were one-parent families, compared with 12.0% and 7.1% respectively for Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children.
