Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Fawkner in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (706 people or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (558 people or 10.1%)
  • Education and Training (521 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,785 people in total or 32.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Gowanbrae employed 11.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.3% in Retail Trade; and 9.6% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Fawkner and Gowanbrae were:
