Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Aintree in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (649 people or 16.6%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (503 people or 12.8%)
  • Construction (386 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,538 people in total or 39.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Melton employed 12.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 11.3% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Aintree and the City of Melton were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (16.6% compared to 12.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (12.8% compared to 10.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in education and training (5.9% compared to 7.5%)
