Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Melton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (7,922 males or 18.2%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (6,347 males or 14.6%)
  • Manufacturing (4,156 males or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 18,425 males in total or 42.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 15.2% in Construction; 7.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 9.0% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Melton and Greater Melbourne were:
