Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Kurunjang in 2011 compared to City of Melton shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 38.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.9% were one-parent families, compared with 43.4% and 13.0% respectively for City of Melton.

There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 15.8% compared to 15.7% in City of Melton while the proportion of couples without children was 22.9% compared to 21.2% in City of Melton.
