Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types of recent arrivals in the City of Melton shows that there was a higher proportion of recent arrivals in couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion in one-parent families compared to the total population in the City of Melton in 2021. Overall, 72.8% of recent arrivals were in couple families with child(ren) and 6.0% were in one-parent families, compared with 61.1% and 13.7% respectively for the total population in the City of Melton.

There were a lower proportion of recent arrivals in lone person households and a higher proportion in couples without children.
