Dominant groups

Analysis of the language spoken at home by children aged 0 to 4 years in the City of Melton in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Melton shows that there was a larger proportion of people who spoke English only, and a smaller proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 57.0% of children aged 0 to 4 years spoke English only, and 36.6% of% spoke a non-English language, compared with 54.3% and 39.0% respectively for the total population in the City of Melton.
